It is my great pleasure and privilege to invite you to join the XVIth European Symposium on Platelet & Granulocyte Immunobiology (ESPGI 2020) which will be held on September 8-11th, 2020 at the Daniel hotel in Herzliya, Israel.
Herzliya is an affluent city in the central coast of Israel, at the Northern part of the Tel Aviv District known for its robust start-up and entrepreneurial culture but also for its glorious past (since mid-4th century BC) as the port city Appolonia-Arsuf.
The venue of ESPGI 2020 is located at the coastal neighborhood of Herzliya, one of Israel’s most exclusive areas, with ambassadors and industrialists among its residents. Fine restaurants, the beautiful Marina as well as the nice beach and upscale atmosphere make it a great place to relax. Herzliya, being just a 20-minute drive away but feeling worlds away from the hustle and bustle of Tel Aviv, is the perfect location for us to meet for the ESPGI2020!
Throughout the years, the goal of the ESPGI Conference has been to bring together all those interested in the fascinating field of immune-mediated platelet and granulocyte clinical conditions/disorders and to be a place for learning and exchange of knowledge with regard to research as well as various diagnostic methods in the field. As such, the upcoming ESPGI 2020 will keep on with this tradition and introduce participants to the forefront of research and knowledge in the field of platelet and granulocyte immunology.
During the meeting, you will be exposed to innovative and exciting presentations in the fields of platelets and cancer, platelets and autoimmunity, innovations in FNAIT and ITP, new diagnostic methods for the detection of platelet and granulocyte antibodies and genetic methods, including NIPD, platelet transfusion refractoriness as well as pathophysiology of TRALI, neutrophils and cancer and more.
The ISBT Working Parties on Platelet and Granulocyte Immunobiology are both active partners in the conference and the business meeting of the Platelet Working Party, which is planned to take place at the very beginning of the symposium. ESPGI 2020 is being held in collaboration with the Israeli Society of Thrombosis and Hemostasis (IsSTH), which will also expand the discussion to new topics that are more tangible to the more traditional topics of the conference, such as the interplay between platelets and anti-thrombotic drugs like DOACs, etc. Joined sessions with IsSTH as well as the ISTH SSC on platelet immunology will also be included in the meeting program.
ESPGI 2020 promises to become an inspiring and educational experience and of course, beyond the program, this meeting is your opportunity to meet with friends and colleagues in the informal frame of a casual meeting to discuss and collaborate in a sunny atmosphere on the stunning Mediterranean coast.
Looking forward to meeting you in ISRAEL for the ESPGI 2020.
